Anyone here have any experience with the "super-natural"?

and if so, would that prove an existence of evil-spirits (demons)?.

i have heard of a couple of stories of possession, or of jw's talking to spiritists and the spiritists having seen 2 men following the jw, either dressed all in black, or all in white, and very strong looking.

yet, i have never experienced any of it.. another experience that i heard is about a brother whose mom had super-natural strength, and tossed something really heavy.

Today I went and saw the exhibit "Body Works" at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.

I was really amazed at what happens to the human body as time goes by,,,, we actually "rust" from the inside out.

Meeting Day

has anyone ever had that dreaded "meeting day" feeling where you know you are going to waste two hours or more of your life - not to mention on the weekends where you can't go away for a whole day somewhere because you have fs on saturday, then a meeting on sunday?

or when you know you have to catch up on work etc but you know that with weekly fs pressures plus the meeting you have lost six hours before the weekend has even started?.

years ago when we were still witnesses, my wife was friends with a lady who wore the religion on her sleeve.. in fact, she divoriced her husband because he would not become a witness, it was a several year-long process but she finally succeeded in getting rid of him.. when she got her divorce, she decided to get certified as a nursing assistant, and she used us as a reference regarding her loan for school.. fast forward several years,,,,,, she gets remarried to an elder out in las vegas and continue to lives her ultra self rightous lifestyle as a jw.. but at least two times a year, the bank-loan officer calls us asking if we know where this "rightous" christian lady can be contacted.. she never paid one penny back for her education.

in fact, there is some kind of a warrant out for her, if she returns to illinois, she can be arrested.. so on one side, she is living out the jw fantasy in las vegas, but she can be thrown in prison for not paying her loan back if she comes back to her home state.. and she just loves to tell anyone what terrible people my wife and i are for walking away from the "truth".

send her a smartly worded reminder on facebook, or just leave it all alone ?.

My wife just ignores the whole thing, yet I'm getting a little short regarding this annual reminder that she is a living breathing hypocrite.

Were you made to rehearse what you would do/say at Armageddon etc?

i remember my parents went through a phase in the 80's of rehearsing what i would say in court if they were trying to get me to have a blood transfusion.

i remember the key comment they wanted me to say was that it would be like being raped, and then i had to be able to descripe what rape was.... i was about 7 at the time...(!).

i also remember having to rehearse a nazi style interrigation senario, as they thought i might need this at armargeddon when the nations "will turn on us!

This is the type of posting that really makes me feel connected to all of you people.

We don't know each other, but weird sh*t like this while growing up is something that most of us share .

June 15 W/T - "Should Youths Get Baptised?"

the above mentioned article caught my eye for a couple of reasons .

.. it is obvious to most observers that the children of active jw's provide a potential "large army" and in spite of the attrition rate of jw youths (around 2/3's i believe), it's a resource the borg are keen to maximise.

there tactics appear to be encouraging baptism at an ever younger age.

though i no longer believe the fds is indeed appointed by god, i guess because of what has been taught to me all these years through the wtbts, i still make an effort to try and look at both sides.
